We suggest several approaches when considering
Journeys
in Film
as a supplementary curriculum.
·1 Speak to your
media center specialist about available resource funds and adding
Journeys
in Film
and related DVDs to your school's "teachers resource" list.
·2 Consider applying
for a grant from a local foundation that supports international education,
global literacy skills, media programs, and improvement of core basic skills
through innovative classroom programs.
·3 Approach a local
business or coalition of businesses (Chamber of Commerce, Foreign Relations
Council, your local Rotary Club chapter, etc) that might hold a particular
interest in supporting economic development and teaching necessary competency
skills in order to prepare youth for effective participation in the global
economy.
·4 Your school may
qualify for Federal Title II funds, which are designed to support Professional
Development opportunities. Your school administrators can consult with your
district's federal funds manager to identify how the Title II funds are being
used in your district.
Journeys
in Film
does not offer grants or provide materials free-of-cost.
